Lagos-bound train crashes into trailer in Kaduna

A train carrying soldiers and civilians from Kano to Lagos has crashed into a trailer in Kaduna resulting in the vehicle to cut into two. NAN reports that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) revealed that the incident happened on Wednesday, December 28 around 3 am. Mr Francis Udoma who is the sector commander of FRSC in the state said no life was lost and blamed the crash on the driver of the trailer for insisting on crossing the rail even when the train was close. Kidnap attempt on 2-year-old foiled by the RRS

A 33-year-old Suleiman Seidu has been arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos state police command for attempting to kidnap 2-year-old Chimdi Udwu in Owode, Ogun State. National Assembly to allocate 15 percent of annual budget to health

Lawmakers of both the appropriation and health committees of the Senate and House of Representatives have resolved to allocate a minimum of 15 percent of the total annual budget to the health sector, just as 1% of the consolidated revenue fund will also be committed to the health sector as stipulated by the National Health Act. Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has appointed Yakubu Nkeki, the Chairman of an association of the Chibok schoolgirls’ Parents as councillor of Mbalala ward in Chibok local government area.
