D'Tigress enters Afrobasket Finals

Nigeria’s D’Tigress, have qualified for 2017 Afrobasket Women’s Championship. In a tension-soaked semi-final clash on Saturday night against hosts, Mali, D’Tigress narrowly prevailed 48-47 to secure a final ticket against the Lioness of Senegal. Also, by extension D’Tigress have secured a berth at next year’s World Championship in Spain. Nigeria, two-time champions of the Afrobasket tournament for women is looking for a third title in Bamako, Mali.

D'Tigress cruise to Semi Final after crushing Ivory Coast

Nigeria’s senior national women’s basketball team D’Tigress on Friday booked their semifinal ticket in the ongoing Afrobasket basketball championships in Bamako, Mali, crushing Cote d’Ivoire, 98-43. D’Tigress have won all six games played so far since the tournament dunked off on August 18. Nigeria proved too hot for the Ivorians, taking the first and second quarters, 23-13, 23-2, and overpowered their opponents 25-17 in the third quarter. Typhoon Hato hit China

At least 12 people have been killed and one missing after Typhoon Hato swept through southern China and the territory of Macau, leaving many millions of dollars worth of destruction. At least eight were killed in Macau, according to AFP news agency. The Macau government said that 153 were also injured in the gambling enclave. D’Tigress of Nigeria defeated the Lioness of Senegal in a keenly contested game by 58-54, handing the first defeat of the tournament  to the defending champions.
