Lagos politician allegedly slaps female journalist ‘recording him buying votes’ [VIDEO]

A popular Lagos State politician, Segun Adewale, allegedly slapped a female reporter of the BBC during the governorship and state Houses of Assembly election held on Saturday.

A video, which captured the moment the Adewale, who is popularly known as Aeroland slapped a female journalist has been released by the BBC Pidgin on its Instagram handle.

In the video clip, the politician was heard insisting that the female journalist should not record him. He was also heard asking the reporter who she was trying to call.

A short report accompanying the video revealed that as at the time the reporter was allegedly slapped, Aeroland, who was an Ekiti State governorship aspirant, was involved in vote buying.

He was said to be sharing N1,000 to each voter, who voted for his party at the Pleasure Bus Stop along the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway.

With the help of thugs allegedly following him, the phone of the reporter was snatched but she was able to get it back with the intervention of the policemen around.
