Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold revealed how manager Jurgen Klopp inspired them to a 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Saturday.
Joel Matip’s 41-minute header gave Klopp’s men the lead at halftime. Mohammed Salah then scored two quick goals in the second, before Lucas Torreira withdrew one in the final minutes.
Alexander-Arnold has revealed how Klopp influenced the game at rest. The player showed us some [footage] at halftime, and we were able to stretch them, with Mo, Bobby, and Sadio [Mane], and put him on his feet.
“They probably settled down knowing that we were going to cross it, they were ready. [Against] other teams we try to create the yard and cross it from the front. The player told us part-time, if we knock down a runner, we can lower the ball out.
“[For Salah’s first], Hendo takes out the ball, and I can play with Bobby, and we have the pen. That was the idea, to drag a central half out and not allow them to stay inside and move the ball away,” said Alexander-Arnold.
